Can
you install a cellar in a building with a block
and beam floor?
Yes, we set the cellar under the beams, and add
in an extra step to overcome the height difference
between the top of the cellar and the finished
floor level.
Do I need to be there during
the installation?
No, this is not necessary. However, it is advisable
that you are there on the first day so that we
can confirm the precise location of the cellar
and the positioning of the trap door.
Do you employ your own installers
or do you subcontract?
All of our installers are full time employees.
Some of our team have been with us for twenty
years and more.
Do I need planning permission?
No, however, building regulations approval is
usually required for inhabitable spaces within
the home. We will manage this on your behalf.
Can a cellar be installed
in an area with a high water table?
Yes the 1.5mm thick butyl liner, ensures that
the environment inside the cellar is watertight,
and where possible we join the existing damp proof
membrane in the property with the butyl liner
to crease a seamless damp proof course.

Do you sell in countries other
than the UK?
Yes, the Spiral Cellar system originates from
France, where its inventor actively markets the
system. We also deliver to Ireland, but we also
have plans to expand to other regions worldwide
in the near future.
How should I prepare for the
installation?
Prior to our arrival, please ensure that the room
is cleared of furniture and that carpet and wooden
flooring are free to be lifted. If your property
has parking restrictions please advise us in advance
such that we can obtain the appropriate parking
permits and permission for skip placement on the
public highway.
What are the payment terms?
A deposit is taken when the order is placed. This
enables us to commence your Building Regulations
application. Twenty days before your installation,
we will require a further payment. Upon completion,
a senior member of our team will visit to ensure
you are 100% happy with your Spiral Cellar. Final
payment will be collected at this time.
Are you insured?
Yes, we have full insurance to the value of £2million.
How far in advance should
I book an installation date?
Our four installation teams are generally fully
booked 8 to 10 weeks in advance, so please invite
us to carry out a survey well in advance of your
required installation date.
