| | How
the trap door works The Trap door covers half of the circular hole that
is dug. The other half is covered with concrete and the floor covering of the
room is fitted on top. The door can be positioned at any point on the center line
of the cellar – to suit the room layout or the easiest access point. We than locate
the first step in line with the trap door. In most occasions, the open trap door
is on your left as you descend the cellar and acts as a pseudo handrail. As standard,
the cellar comes with a four panel wooden trap door, measuring 5 feet by 3 feet,
and 2 inches thick. It has a gas strut to ease lifting of the door and supports
the door in the open position. Other door options are available, at an additional
cost. | |
